The sports ground at Rånåsfoss.

Here, just a short walk from Olbergåsen, you’ll find the sports ground at Rånåsfoss. Built by the power plant in 1979, this is a large and open gravel field with two football goals – simple, yet full of life. During summer, the field is used for ball games and informal play. Children and teenagers gather here spontaneously, playing matches until darkness falls and feeling the dust from the gravel beneath their shoes. When winter arrives, the area transforms into an ice-skating rink. The ice is sprayed, the lights are switched on, and laughter carries through the clear evening air. Next to the rink stands the small warming hut – the skate hut – where equipment is stored and where people can step inside to warm their fingers. Nearby, you’ll also find the barbecue hut, built by the local community association at Rånåsfoss. Here, you can sit on benches around the fire grill, light a fire with your own wood, and meet neighbours and friends. It is simple, social, and especially popular on cold winter evenings. Small places. Big memories.
