Skansen – Bergen’s Historic Lookout Point

High above the city lies Skansen, one of Bergen’s oldest defensive outposts. A fortification was built here in the 17th century to protect the city from attacks by sea. In 1903, a fire station was added, providing a vital lookout over the city’s wooden buildings.
